Noch zwei US-Bausätze. Eine Diesellok DD-40 und eine Dampflok.
Die DD-40 wurde ja schon weiter oben erwähnt.

Bei der Dampflok ist leider keine Anleitung dabei, so dass ich nicht sagen kann welche Lok da Vorbild ist. Wird bestimmt auch spannend, die ohne Anleitung zusammenzusetzen.

Bei der Dampflok sollte soetwas wie eine "Berkshire"(2-8-4) bei rauskommen, hier allerdings mit etwas größerem Tender und Speichenrädern :

I unexpectedly received a package from Pennsylvania. Inside was an ALCo C425 case from CMR Products.

Unfortunately, the quality isn't very good. The side panels warped inwards during printing, and the frame isn't straight when viewed from above. While the steps/handles on one end were printed very well, they're too thin. I think holes made from bent wire would be better. Nothing more than the body is included. So, you'll need to get creative with the tank, bogie covers, and handrails yourself.

Now for the good news. The resin is very stable and not particularly brittle. The supports are quite easy to remove. There's ample space inside for the chassis of the Lok-n-Roll GP30. The millimeter difference in the distance between the bogie centers is barely noticeable. The bogies are the 23mm ones from Halling. According to the prototype, they would be 23.7mm. One could use the 24mm ones from Halling, but then the existing 23mm bogie sideframes wouldn't fit. The height of the body can still be adjusted; I placed a 0.7mm thick strip of plastic on the chassis. This makes the locomotive look appropriately tall. I still need to check the space and position for the couplings.

All in all, a great model, with a few minor teething problems in the design and printing. That's my first impression, and many thanks to @areibel!

The print still seems to have orientation problems , despite talk of them using a larger printer. As long as it has to be printed diagonally, I guess it will have such issues.

Man kann ein Objekt schräg oder diagonal im Drucker platzieren, ohne dass man Abstriche in der Qualität befürchten muss. Hier ist CMR Products gefragt ihren Druck bzw. die Kontrolle der Drucke zu verbessern.

I have a C430 from them. Same problems. I doubt they will improve. The diagonal lining affects the hood doors, but these are are incorrect anyway. As they are on the C425.

Das ist schade. Wenn sie ihre Qualität der Drucke nicht verbessern, dann wird kaum einer dort noch etwas kaufen.

The advantage is that their 3-D printing material is sturdy and hard, with a little flexibility. I will try to turn my C430 into a C630.
